"It is like a grain of mustardseed, which a man took and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it."
(Luke 13:17, Holy Bible,
King James Version)
Global Mustard seed Missions will provide mobile clinic outreach staffed by volunteers. This will occur when many former transitional services which provided standing outpatient health clinics for the management of acute and chronic diseases of poverty may have decreased. We focus on addressing acute and chronic diseases by partnering with local volunteer clinicians within the communities impacted by hardships. Services rendered are first jumpstarted by volunteer health care providers who will join forces with local clinicians to host mobile medical clinics. The local clinicians will continue to be supported after initial teams have withdrawn. Medications and mobile medical equipment will be provided to sustain mobile clinics. Volunteer teams from abroad will come in to work with local clinicians as teams are available. Mobile teams operating with clinicians in the countries served will be facilitated with support from GMSM. Public health education will occur through patient teaching and distribution of culturally relevant medical literature. Teams will stay at local guest houses which are already established that host volunteers and provide board with meals and secure housing. Team members will fundraise to cover their own expenses at these places. Transportation will be provided by hiring local drivers through collaborations with local clinicians. Secured clinic sites will be selected based upon connecting with locals such as Pastors, school leaders and business administrators in communities serviced to ensure that mobile clinics are hosted in safe havens. Team members will fundraise to cover their individual flight and travel expenses. Assistance will be provided at no expense from GMSM to aid in logistical support in booking the most cost efficient arrangements. Recruitment for teams will occur through word of mouth advertising through multiple venues including: a GMSM website; workplace promotions, churches, urban organizations and at community events.
"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." (Matthew 17:20, Holy Bible, King James Version)

The benefit on December 22, 2012 was a great success. We would like to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who supported any part of it. The event entailed guest speakers Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers and Teletha Benjamin; Haitian art sold through a silent auction; Haitian delicacies; entertainment with God N Charge (GNC Ministries),DJ OG One, singers & dancers, Christian hip hop and presentations about life in Haiti. Proceeds are continuiing to be used to buy medications and equipment for mobile medical teams in Haiti. Charmika Schuster, GMSM founder, is enroute to Haiti in the beginning of January 2013. She will run mobile medical clinics with the local clinicians working with the community leaders including Pastors to ensure safety and security. We will work with local pharmacies in Haiti to collaborate on purchasing medications in country. Clinics will be run in churches, schools, orphanages and possibly tented camps. With the continued support of GMSM, local clinicians will continue to run clinics in the future. Arrangements will be made with local guesthouses, tranlators and transportation sources to make it possible for future volunteers to come visit Haiti and serve in teams working alongside local clinicians to deliver health care.
Plans are underway for the next benefit planned for late summer 2013 to be hosted in Portland OR. The trip details will be blogged about on this website.
